Summer is coming to an end & before it does I wanted to recap our Weekend Getaway to Fort Worth! It was my first time visiting and I had the best time! I truly can’t wait to revisit. I’ll be sharing what we ate, how we got there, hotel we stayed at & more! Let’s jump into my Weekend Getaway to Fort Worth.
TRAVEL
We drove into Fort Worth from Dallas and it was about a 45 minute drive. I partnered with Mazda & I got to drive the CX-90 which was such a great car! It was roomy, had tons of great features like Apple Car Play, and my favorite was the moonroof.
STAY
Again this was my first time to Fort Worth so we decided to stay right in downtown. There were ton of hotel options but The Sinclair was definitely the best choice. It was such a great boutique hotel that included a restaurant on property, a great rooftop bar that’s open during the summer, and the rooms had a touch of gatsby but were completely modern.
The area around The Sinclair was completely walkable with tons of restaurants & shops nearby. They also offer valet service with in & out privileges. If you want to see what Fort Worth has to offer while staying near a ton of things to do The Sinclair is definitely the best place to stay.
WHAT TO EAT
Fort Worth had a ton of restaurants and choosing what to eat was definitely a challenge. First we went to Paco’s Mexican Cuisine. The restaurant is located in Sundance Square and it was walking distance to our hotel. The drinks were really good and inexpensive & the taco salad was beyond amazing!
We got a sweet snack from FunkyTown Donuts & Drafts. They have speciality donuts & we tried the lemon box which was beyond amazing! After dinner, we decided to go out for drinks and tried to stop into Dirty Laundry. It’s like a speakeasy vibe and looked so fun but the line was super long & we weren’t in the mood to wait. So instead we went to Reservoir Bar which had no line and was so fun! The drinks were flowing, the music was great, and they did offer food all night long in case you want a late night bite.
The next day we decided to have brunch at The Biscuit Bar at the Stockyards. I had the Chicken & Not a Waffle and it was so good! We also got a pitcher of mimosas because brunch isn’t brunch without mimosas. We also had a few drinks at Second Rodeo Brewing & got a scoop of ice cream from MELT ice scream.
WHAT TO DO
Obviously the number one thing to do is the Fort Worth Stockyards! I had never been and was so excited to go. There is a daily cattle drive, historical walking tours, a petting zoo, horseback riding, a rodeo, tons of places to eat & drink, and so much shopping!
If you live in Texas & really want to feel all the Texas vibes then the stockyards is the place to do it! Also recommend walking around Sundance Square. Again there is a ton of restaurants & shops here plus it’s right in the middle of downtown.
I hope you guys enjoyed my Weekend Getaway to Fort Worth and if you’ve been to Fort Worth I’d love to hear what things you recommend!
