Oh hay Wednesday or should I say wedding Wednesday! I can hear the bells ringing because the wedding is getting closer and closer. Obviously with the world in the middle of the pandemic and everyone in a frenzy I’ve been trying to focus on the positive and that is my wedding. Today I’m bringing you a new wedding update! Today will be wedding update #3.
So let’s start with a question I’ve gotten from a few of you…
Are you rescheduling your wedding?
So as of right now we are not rescheduling the wedding. We have talked about a few different scenarios where we may have to and are definitely prepared to if we need to. We have talked with all our currently booked vendors to see if the possibilities of rescheduling and what that means. All of them have luckily been great and I couldn’t be happier! We are praying we can still stick to our date but if not we are ready and understanding with a Plan B. Speaking of date…
Invitations
Again with all this free time we’ve been focusing on pieces of the wedding each week and last week it was invitations. We have had them for a few weeks but with all the madness in the world we had set them to the side. Once we had a plan of action together, we decided to get them together and send the me out. I also wrote a whole post on it and if you want to see more photos and more about my invites you can click here to see more!
Decor
If you didn’t see my haul on stories a few weeks back I’ve been buying a TON of wedding things! I’ve been shopping at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, At Home, and of course Amazon! Most is linked on this page but for all other things I will link down below. I’ve gotten things like candle holders, some dry floral, guestbook, wedding signs, etc. The next thing that would be needed are flowers!
Florist
We spoke with a few different florists and even some DIY sites but I’m happy to say we have found our florist for our wedding day! The name of the florist shop is Forsythia Florals and the owner is Amy. We met with Amy back before all this in late February and she has been the absolute best! She is very responsive to all our questions and concerns and helped us stay in our budget. I highly recommend her for your floral needs if you are a Texas bride!
Cake
On the last update I let you guys know we found our caterer and as far as cake needed to decide on flavors. Well guys we found all our flavors! We had a great cake tasting at a cake vendor here in Houston and yes I documented our experience! You can watch our cake tasting vlog here.
Photographer/Videographer
Also mentioned on my last update was that we were going to be securing our photographer/videographer and guys we did! We have chosen Vintage Photography Fine Art! We wanted something light and romantic and we felt Yvette really captures that perfectly! Plus she has been beyond amazing with helping us as this pandemic takes place and she was able to stick to our budget while we still got everything we wanted. She does travel for weddings so if you are a bride I highly highly recommend getting in contact with her! You won’t regret it!
Bridesmaid Dresses
I had been doing research on colors and what I really envisioned for my bridesmaids and I was able to find just that this month. Plus I will be working with an amazing company called Birdy Grey! They have a ton of beautiful colors of bridesmaid dresses at such an affordable price. Their customer service is great and if you have any questions they answer them very quickly. I can’t wait to share with you guys the color I chose after the wedding but for now you can kind of get a sneak peak with the swatches above.
Makeup & Hair
Clearly I’ve been busy wedding planning this month but the last of my wedding update will go to my makeup & hair artist! You guys have no idea how happy I am that I’ve found my makeup artist because besides my dress the next important thing… makeup & hair. I’ve chosen Mandalin Collective has the makeup & hair team that will take care of me and my bridesmaids! Mandie is amazing and so communicative on all fronts. I highly recommend her if you are getting married in the Austin.
What’s next?
This month was clearly a busy wedding planning month. I have a ton of things left to do but definitely feel the most accomplished this month! For April, I will be focusing on linens, a bartender, DJ, and the choir singers for our ceremony. Somewhere next month, I’m hoping I can also take my dress to get altered.
I hope you guys enjoyed wedding update #3! If you guys are in the midst of planning your wedding I’d love to hear how wedding planning is going? Also if you’d had to reschedule leave us other brides advice in the comments below!
