Hi friends! It’s Wednesday and you know what that means… Wedding Wednesday! It’s been a while since I’ve updated you guys with the happenings and I’ve been getting so many questions on it. Today I’m going to be sharing a Wedding Planning Q&A!
A lot you guys are recently engaged or are MOH to your BFF, sister, sister in law, etc. and have some great questions! I’ll be sharing some of the questions I’ve received and hope this helps you guys that are planning a wedding. Let’s jump into it!
Q: WHERE ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED?
The number question I’ve been getting is where I’m getting married! Great question of course and I’m going to admit something that might freak out a ton of people. I haven’t booked a venue yet. YIKES! I’m currently in the process of choosing one and the reason I haven’t chosen one is because we have chosen a destination wedding in Cancun!
We are both super excited and can’t wait but we just want to make sure we are getting something that we will love and our guest will as well. I’ve been using Wedding Wire to find the perfect venue! It’s seriously such an incredible resource and has been the best tool. One of my favorite things about it is that you can reach out to venues right on the platform! I’ve been able to get so much information and have it all to refer back later.

It’s been the perfect thing for us and we are currently planning a trip to go out to Cancun to see some of the venues.
Q: DID YOU HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT PARTY?
I definitely wanted to have an engagement party when we first got engaged. It was an exciting time in our lives but also it was a bit difficult in mine because my grandma had just passed. We were also really busy when we got back from Cabo because we had to move out, Ryan had a few job interviews, and everything was crazy!
By the time we were all settled in it was about end of May. We thought of possibly have it in June but Ryan had a few commitments so July was looking like the perfect month. Unfortunately we had a few things fall through and the end of our summer was just busy. We decided to pass on having an engagement party which was sad but my parents held a dinner for us and honestly it was so sweet and we both had such a good time.
Q: DO YOU HAVE A WEDDING WEBSITE?
Not yet but I definitely will! I think it will be the best point of information for our guests since we are doing a destination wedding. I’ll be using one of the free templates on Wedding Wire.
Q: DO YOU HAVE A WEDDING THEME?
I don’t really think we have a theme but if I had to name it I would say romantic spanish. I want bright red’s and fuscia and just make it fun! Don’t worry I’ll still have some lighter colors to mix in there but since it will be in Mexico I do want it bright and fun!
Q: HOW DID YOU PICK YOUR BRIDESMAIDS?
This is a really popular question and I can definitely understand how it could be hard to choose bridesmaids but it was SOO easy for me! All of my girls have been in my life through thick and thin.
My MOH is my sister because obviously she has been with me the most through life and knows it all. I also have my youngest sister that is pretty much my twin in life and she will be my only junior bridesmaid. My best friend who I’ve been friends with since middle school and trust me we saw each other at our worst and how we’ve gotten to our best.
My best friends sister who pretty much fits the same bill except we love to get crazy together and man the memories. My college roommate who has helped me through some dark times and honestly has kept me from falling apart one to many. Last but not least, my future sister in law who from the beginning has been very raw and honest but also helps me see bits of R that I wouldn’t have without her there.
I’m excited that I will have them all by my side for our big day and there’s no one else in the world I would have chosen!
Q: HOW DO YOU STAY CALM AND WHAT HELPS YOU KEEP TRACK OF EVERYTHING?
Okay so this question literally made me LOL because the staying calm thing… still don’t have that down! Everyone around me is extremely excited (as am I) but I have to be the one to feel ready to make the next move because if not all I feel is stressed. I know everyone has great intentions and some people are just asking questions but not going to lie it gets to me!
One of the ways that has helped me stay calm though is having such an understanding fiancé and having him by my side when I feel like it’s to much has been the best! As far as keeping track of everything, I know a lot of people have wedding planners (which I haven’t 100% decided on) but Wedding Wire really has been the best tool!
It has a timeline for you and and has so many amazing ways to track your progress, your budget, your vendors, etc. Again I highly recommend it and that’s how I’ve been able to keep a track of everything.
