Hi friends! Oh Monday here you are again rearing your ugly head. It’s totally okay though because I’m making the most out of it and accomplishing so many of my to dos. Today I’m going to be sharing a little bit about my stay at the Riu Santa Fe Hotel in Cabo San Lucas! It’s been over a month and I’ve had some time to really gather my thoughts about my entire stay and trip. I’m going to be breaking it down since it’s an all-inclusive resort. I’m breaking it down by room, service, food, and entertainment.
ROOM
There are three things that need to check off to make a room amazing to me and that is space, bed size, and amenities. Let’s start with space. The room at the Riu definitely checked this out of the park. We had big closet, bathroom and a great patio area for hanging out. We had a king size bed so again huge check off the list! Now let’s jump into amenities.
As far as amenities go, we had a mini bar fully stocked and four different alcohol choices by the tap. That was definitely one of the most unique amenities in the room! There was no room service so that kind of sucked but there were more than plenty restaurants on property to choose from. Another nice amenity is that they had a lock box in the room so if you had any personal items you could safely lock them up while you are out and about.
SERVICE
If you’re a person that loves to be taken care of then I highly recommend staying here! They seriously wine and dine you to the fullest! From the moment you get out of your car, you are greeted with a welcome margarita, to the moment you are leaving they help you get everything back into the car. I grade the service an A++++.
Every restaurant we went to made sure we enjoyed our food. Every bar we visited would give us recommendations on drinks and if we didn’t like it, they would quickly make something else. Down by the beach they had umbrellas and chairs set up for you to lounge. It was literally perfect! The Riu staff really makes you feel so relaxed and will go above and beyond to give you the best!
FOOD
As I mentioned before, the Riu had a ton of options for food. We tried to eat something different every night so we could try everything. Things that we were able to try included the steak restaurant, the pasta restaurant, the Asian fusion restaurant, and pretty much all buffet foods during breakfast and lunch. They all are about the same type of food so don’t worry if you don’t go to different ones.
My favorite of all was the Asian fusion restaurant, Zashila. If there is one you are going to try make sure this one is on your list. Dinner starts at 6 PM for most of them so try to get there at 6 so that you can avoid the dinner crowd.
ENTERTAINMENT
So what I’m about to say surprised so many people but honestly if you stay here you will totally understand where I am coming from. We did NOT leave the property. Listen, I’ve heard Cabo has some amazing nightlife spots as well as such a great touristy part of the city. Trust me our plans were to leave but we just enjoyed every single part of the resort.
Every night they have some sort of performance on their main stage. After the show, they have some sort of DJ or band playing in the main square while everyone dances. If you want to continue the party, then they have a nightclub that you can go to and if you still aren’t tired after that they have a sports bar that stays open 24 hours a day. They had so much for all ages! During the day time, they have two huge pools! One is by the beach and that one is usually always packed. There are bars and a restaurant around both of the pools. They also have a gym and spa on the resort! If you are really wanting to relax then you can hit the spa or if you have to work out on vacation then you can hit the gym! We actually were able to go to the gym while we were there! They do have excursions if you wanted to do something on the beach but I personally would recommend booking something while you’re on the beach. We did the horse riding excursion which you guys saw in my proposal story and we also did a glass bottom boat tour. I highly highly recommend the glass bottom boat tour because you get to see the other side of the beach and see what is the beauty of Cabo!
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
If you can’t tell by now, my experience at Riu Santa Fe was beyond amazing! I would definitely rate it a 4.5 out of 5. The only reason I took off a few points is because there was no room service which I love and the room was a bit outdated. Other than that knocked it out of the park! I hope this helps you when browsing resorts in Cabo!

Thank you for this blog post! We are going in a few weeks, and this really solidified our decision. We saw very mixed reviews on travelocity, etc. And this rocks! And not to mention- your pictures were absolutely gorg!

I definitely saw families at the resort! They did have different things planned through out the resort and some were kid friendly!
