Thank god it’s Friday! I’m currently taking medicine because I think I’m coming down with a cold. I feel like it may be going around but also after the exhaustion of going to New York I think the sickness finally caught up to me. Today’s post is my recap on NYFW Day 4 & 5.
RECAP
Day 4 was the last day with all my roommates. I stayed one extra day because I had some meetings early Tuesday morning. Monday’s schedule was pretty easy. I had one show (thank god) and was planning on spending the rest of the time with the girl’s sight-seeing. We checked out and had a plan for the whole day!
Sadly, we got a bit of scare with going my roommates getting to the airport on time so we went into over drive. The first thing we had was getting our hair done by Tresemmé. The studio area was so cute and the hairstylist were the sweetest. I decided I wanted to do something with a braid and waves. I got exactly what I wanted!
After getting my hair done there was a big must do thing on my list and that was visiting the LTK wall. We were already downtown so getting there wasn’t terrible. The wall is gorgeous! The colors were literally so bright in beautiful in the concrete city.
The next thing on our list was the Brooklyn bridge! Again since we were already downtown not that bad of a ride. We took an uber and got the bridge. Now I’ve seen the bridge before but I’ve never been on it so for me it was EVERYTHING. The view of the city, the bridge so iconic, I mean everything about it was amazing. We also got hot dogs because can you go to New York and not have a picture with a hot dog? Haha! After the bridge, it was time to say goodbye to my roommates. We all hugged, wished each other well, and went on our separate ways. It was pretty sad for me because this was my girl gang! I felt like I was alone in this huge city and honestly for the first time ever I was sad and a bit scared. Not scared as in like something was going to happen to me but scared that I would get lost.
As soon as they left, it was time for me to go my show of the day. I went to the Hakan Akkaya show and was very excited and ready for it to start. I actually got to sit front row again (score!) and made off with a little gift bag! The show was amazing and the designer seriously seems so cool! The show featured a ton of black and white pieces and they were very sexy pieces. This show topped #1 on my list because it had a lot of fun wearable pieces.
Once I finished with this show, I went back to the hotel to pick up my bags and headed back to New Jersey. I was so exhausted from running around in the morning that by the time 4 o’clock hit I felt like the day was done for me. That night I got to have dinner with a really good friend! We had some drinks and great conversation!
The next morning, I took a train back into the city for two meetings. Honestly, I felt so exhausted from the entire trip that I didn’t even take any pictures. I know so not blogger (sorry). By about 1, I went back to New Jersey to relax a bit before I left back to Houston. I did have a few shows scheduled for Tuesday but ultimately decided that I wasn’t going to go because I didn’t want to rush between meeting and show and back to New Jersey to catch my flight. Just typing that made me feel tired. That wraps up my NYFW trip!
OUTFIT
As I said before, I didn’t take any photos of my outfit for Tuesday so I will shoot that for another blog post later! As far as Monday’s outfit I wore a cute high-waisted skirt from J. Crew and paired it with the same black bodysuit from Express. On top I wore a black blazer from Express which was perfect because it was extremely casual.
I was all about comfort again because heels really did me in on Saturday so, I wore these super comfortable black mules and paired it with my Henri Bendel purchase (aka sunglasses) and the cutest bag ever!
I hope you guys enjoyed these recaps and I will be doing one more NYFW post on Monday! It will be somewhat of a Q&A/guide so if there is anything you are wondering about let me know!
XOXO,
Silvia M.

I love the Brooklyn Bridge! I’ve been there several times already, but I always want to go back and walk it every chance I get. There’s nothing like that view late at night when the city is all lit up!
