Thank you to The Quisby, Drip Affogato Bar, and Paint’d for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions are my own.
Good Morning! I’m up late typing up this post but it’s so worth and it’s been a long time coming. As many of you know I went to New Orleans earlier this month with my blogger girlfriend Ressa. We both had such a blast and I seriously can’t wait till our next travel adventure. Today I’m going to be sharing our Girls Weekend in New Orleans!
If you’ve never been to New Orleans I definitely think you should go! The culture, the food, the people, I mean everything is amazing! I was lucky enough to see so many amazing spots and today I’ll be sharing everything from where to stay, where to eat, and places to see!
STAY
The first time I visted New Orleans I stayed in near the French Quarter. By that I mean I was literally less than a mile away from the French Quarter so pretty much the French Quarter. This time I decided to see a whole different side of New Orleans and we stayed at The Quisby. This was my first time staying at a hostel but wow guys I can’t begin to tell you how impressed I was with this hostel!
It seriously was amazing! It never felt like I was staying in a hostel and it’s so cute! You get your own bathroom and the shower is beautiful. There is free breakfast every morning and they have the cutest little kitchen area and bar! Everyone there is super helpful and they even give you a ton of amazing recommendations to visit. If you are going up soon for a trip I would highly suggest staying here especially if you are going with a group of friends! Oh, btw they also have a two bedroom for all my couples out there!
EAT
I can’t even begin to describe how delicious all the food is! Honestly my absolute favorite thing had to be the charbroiled oysters! I was lucky enough to have them twice and at two amazing restaurants! If you have never tried them then believe me, you need too and your welcome. I visited Drago’s Restaurant the first night SO GOOD! Then I visited Royal House Oyster Bar also so good and the staff so sweet!
We decided to check out a super popular lunch spot called Willa Jean and honestly it didn’t disappoint. We drank a frosé because what else says girls trip right and also ate this delicious fried chicken sandwich. If you want some dessert they have a delicious and beautiful bakery!
Of course, you can’t go to New Orleans without eating some beignets. We stopped by at Café Beignet and they were so good! A serious MUST when in New Orleans. If you’ve tried beignets and are wanting different then there is no other way to go than getting an affogato! We stopped by at Drip Affogato Bar and the place was so chic and the affogato hit the perfect spot for a hot day! They have so many different options and who doesn’t love ice cream and coffee!? They also have amazing drinks like Vietnamese coffee and a tasty boba tea.
FUN
There is so much to see in New Orleans! If it’s your first time obviously you should check out Bourbon St because it’s a bucket list item. Also check out Frenchmen St. where you can hear some jazz bands and of course get that real New Orleans vibe. Speaking of jazz bands, we stopped into the Ritz Carlton and they had such an amazing jazz band! If you want to dress up a bit and listen to some great music I highly recommend it!
There are so many great landmarks to see. Everyone needs to see the Jackson Square because it’s absolutely beautiful and there are so many great acts performing. We were lucky enough to catch “When The Saints Go Marching In” band with all the people. #NOLA We also stopped by Cresent Park and it was stunning! There is so much history there from Hurricane Katrina and just to see it now is such a great feeling and so amazing to see what it is now. Major plus the view of the city is KILLER! Also if you are having a girls weekend or bachelorette party then check out Paint’d in the Lower Garden District. They are the friendliest ladies and the place is so freaking cute and blogger heaven! They have the most amazing designs and they change them every season so you will always have something new and amazing! If you go tell them I sent you and make sure to take a million photos. The last thing I would recommend doing is just taking in the culture and the city. There are so many gorgeous architectural places and the houses are so cute! I mean I have so many pictures I just didn’t want to overload you guys! If you guys visited or live in New Orleans let me know your favorite spots!
XOXO,
Silvia M.
