Happy Wednesday friends! I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve posted on here! It’s so refreshing to come back and I’m very excited to share today’s post! I’m going to be sharing 3 things I learned after going to a bridal show this past weekend!
As I mentioned before, I’ve been taking everything so slow and just enjoying the engagement so this was the first “bridal” thing I’ve done! It’s was so fun and I got to spend the day with my mom and sister. It was such a fun experience and this will be a memory I will always have! Now let’s just into the 3 things I learned!
1. TAKE SOMEONE WHO ISN’T YOUR FIANCÉ WITH YOU
So first thing is first. Don’t take your fiancé! They will probably get tired of being there after about 10 minutes and won’t be much help. It’s just not a guy’s thing and we should all know this! As I mentioned above, I went with my mom and sister and it was seriously the best! Most vendors want to talk to the bride because… hello! So I got stuck in long conversations with different vendors losing lots of time. My sister helped by dropping off all my raffle tickets and mom helped by grabbing fliers from different vendors! They were serious god sends!
2. GET THERE EARLY
Try to get to the show as soon as it opens! We got there a bit later but we still had a little under 3 hours to look around. We got a ton of fliers but it would have been nice to see a little more and get a bit more information. My biggest thing was trying to find a potential venue and many of them are having open houses this month so it worked out! If you really want to get to know each vendor though get there as soon as it opens so you have more than enough time!
3. DON’T BUY THE REUSABLE BAG AT THE FRONT
Complete rookie move! As you are walking in and checking everyone is handing you papers and magazines and giving you a ton of information. The last thing before I walked in was a stand where they were selling reusable bags. I thought of course I need one of these how am I going to carry all of this… WRONG! So many vendors will give you bags with their information inside of them. We ended up leaving with about 7 bags! If we go to one again now I know!
If you’ve been to a bridal show I’d love to hear any tips you have! I hope this helps any of you who are planning on attending a bridal show soon!
